After the lack of interest from parents, Fulton County Schools pulled the plug on a plan to open a mask-optional campus at the old Crabapple Middle School located in Roswell. This learning hub was proposed at the August 12th work session by Fulton County Schools Superintendent, Dr. Looney as a response to meet the demands of parents to do away with the district’s mask mandate.

The school would have housed students in grades K-8 with a possible 100 families interested.

Today, in a statement, the district did an about-face after having a virtual meeting with prospective parents.

“To date, less than 10 families committed to the learning hub, a number too low to warrant a viable program option. Therefore, FCS will not move forward with this learning option.”
