The full statement is below.
Regretfully, Griffin-Spalding County School System lost another transportation staff member yesterday. Three transportation staff members have passed away in the last two weeks. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are with friends, family, and coworkers.
This has created strain and disruption to transportation operations. Tomorrow, all GSCS students will attend school in person to ensure a smooth transition to virtual learning. Widespread bus delays are expected and parents have been asked to transport their students to and from school tomorrow if they can. Beginning Wednesday, September 8, all students will remain at home and begin virtual learning mode.
Virtual learning will continue for at least the remainder of the week. Students will connect with their teachers and access their work assignments through Google Classroom.
