Atlanta Public Schools (APS) announced on Twitter Monday that a Transportation Drivers Recruitment Fair will be held Saturday, June 12th from 9 a.m. till noon, at 1661 Metropolitan Ave SW.
After clicking the link in APS’s Twitter post, potential applicants will be led to APS’s website where it will showcase some of the benefits of being a bus driver. Some of the benefits the website cites are things such as, being able to have a flexible work schedule and being able to give back to the community.
In order to become a bus driver for APS, applicants will need a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), however for those that do not have that, APS will provide training for candidates that they consider to be qualified, as is mentioned on the site.
“APS provides this training for qualified candidates, which consists of over the road training, in-class lectures, testing and more. Candidates are also eligible
to receive hourly pay while completing training and onboarding requirements.”
For questions, the site says to contact the APS Transportation Department at (404) 802-5500.
