Education in Atlanta is an equity-led newsroom committed to covering one of Atlanta’s most underreported stories: the effort to improve schools for all children within the metro Atlanta area, especially those who have been disenfranchised from quality education due to race, socioeconomic, or disability. Currently, less than half of students in the metro Atlanta area reading or doing math on grade level, we’re in a crisis, and it’s time for us to report as our kids’ lives depend on it because they do.
