The 2024 College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI) scores were released today and reveal how students performed across Georgia’s elementary, middle, and high schools. Some elementary schools excelled in “Closing Gaps,” while middle schools led in “Readiness,” and high schools showed strong performance in the “Graduation Rate” category.
“This year’s College and Career Ready Performance Index scores paint a clear picture of academic improvement across grade levels in Georgia’s public schools,” State School Superintendent Richard Woods said. “While we have seen scores increase on state and national assessments, the CCRPI also encompasses other indicators – from schools’ success at improving the performance of all students to the opportunities offered beyond core subject areas. These scores show advancements across the curriculum, and where there are areas for improvement, the data allow us to make a focused effort toward growth.”
The CCRPI evaluates schools through five components: Content Mastery, Progress, Closing Gaps, Readiness, and Graduation Rate (high schools only). Scores for 2024 showed improvements in all comparable components, with notable gains in high-school Progress and Content Mastery across all grade levels.
The improvements in the 2024 CCRPI scores come as Georgia introduces a new school voucher program aimed at providing options for students in low-performing schools. The program allows families to redirect public funding toward private education or other academic opportunities, sparking discussions on how best to support schools and students struggling to meet performance benchmarks. With the latest CCRPI data highlighting areas of growth, the voucher program seeks to address persistent challenges in schools that require additional resources and targeted interventions to foster academic success.
Key 2024 CCRPI Scores Compared to 2023
- Content Mastery: Elementary 67.8 (+3.1), Middle 64 (+3.1), High 68.2 (+3.2)

The CCRPI, Georgia’s accountability system under the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides insights into student performance, academic growth, and readiness for post-secondary success. It does not assign an overall score but focuses on individual components to ensure transparency and actionable data.
