Douglas County Schools are hiring school nutrition workers for the upcoming school year, according to a Facebook post from the district Thursday.
The district is seeking applicants for three different jobs — bookkeeper, school nutrition assistant manager and food service assistant substitute, according to the application website. The job offers the benefit of school day hours with spring, winter and summer breaks off, along with other benefits.
The district has been hiring food service assistant substitutes since 2016, while the other positions are newer. The bookkeeper position was posted in May, while the school nutrition assistant manager position was posted July 16, according to the website.
Along with long break periods, the field boasts complimentary meals on days worked, employment advancement opportunities and a workday that typically ends by 2:30 p.m. — depending on the school, according to the Facebook post.
