Hours after fan favorite Jackson State University won the SWAC Championship Game over Southern, Head Coach Deon Sanders was officially named as the Head Coach of Colorado State.
With this announcement, a local commitment, Robert Christian Lockhart, III from Langston Hughes High School located in Fairburn, Georgia, announced that “recruitment was 100% back open”. Lockhart, a 4-star football player, is also, but is also a dominant force in track and field, holding a 10.75 in the 100 meters, 21.5 in the 200, and a 4.45 40-yard dash.
Sanders, a Hall of Fame cornerback, went 27-5 over three seasons at Jackson State and brought national media attention to football at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs).
