Bartow County Schools is hiring special education teachers for the 2021-22 school year, according to a Tweet from the district Tuesday.
Applicants must be certified or eligible for teacher certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in special education, the district states in the Tweet. Special education teachers will plan and provide guidance in learning, choose and use different teaching methods and learning materials, teach within certain curricula and set goals for particular “caseloads and/or students” and provide a classroom atmosphere that accommodates learning.
Bartow County Schools provides special education services to students aged three to 21 who are eligible through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, according to the district’s website. These services include specialized instruction and assistive technology.
According to the Tweet, hired teachers will regularly sit, stand, stoop and kneel. They may need to lift and move items 25 to 50 pounds. Teachers must be able to quickly respond to emergencies related to vision and communication, the post states.
Applications can be submitted here for applicants who do not already work in the district. Current Bartow County Schools employees can submit a letter of interest and a resume to the chief human resources officer.
