In a special called meeting, the Atlanta Board of Education swore in Tolton Pace as the appointed board member for District 6 today at 1:00 pm.
The District 6 area includes the following schools:
Elementary: Cascade, Cleveland Avenue, Continental Colony, Deerwood Academy, Fickett, Heritage Academy, Humphries, Hutchinson, Kimberly, Kindezi at Gideons, Perkerson
Middle Schools:Bunche, Forrest Hill Academy, Long, Sylvan Hills
High Schools: Forrest Hill Academy, South Atlanta, Therrell
Currently, Tolton Pace has served as the Senior Program Officer at the Arthur Blank Foundation since September 2023. In his previous role with The Home Depot Foundation, Pace managed strategic partnerships and grant programs with The Home Depot Foundation and was responsible for a $13 million annual grantmaking portfolio focused on workforce development, the arts, healthcare, outdoor spaces, and veteran-related causes.
His professional experiences include working in philanthropy and nonprofits focused on youth development in Atlanta’s Westside and South Atlanta, including the City of Atlanta’s WorkSource Atlanta, The Gifted Education Foundation, Young Life, the Agape Youth & Family Center, and Atlanta Public Schools (Project GRAD).
Tolton is a native Atlantan (third-generation in the Westside) and a graduate of Atlanta Public Schools and Emory University. Tolton is fluent in Spanish and, in his spare time, serves as a youth minister at Impact Church. He, his wife Khristal, and son Roman live in southwest Atlanta.
