Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) announced in a Facebook post-Tuesday that CCPS will be requiring students and staff to wear masks during the 2021-2022 school year.
The Facebook post described the Operational Game Plan for the upcoming school year and noted that students will be required to wear masks at lunch (when not eating), on buses, during field trips, and in CCPS buildings. CCPS encouraged their stakeholders and residents to view the Operational Game Plan.
“Clayton County Public Schools is proud to share the Operational Game Plan for the 2021-2022 School Year. Featuring key information for stakeholders as the district prepares to welcome students back to face-to-face instruction on Monday, August 2, 2021, all are encouraged to review this document for details relative to safety guidelines, facility visitors, nutrition, transportation, athletics, and much more!”
The full list was put in a graphic and can be found here on the CCPS Facebook page.
The Operational Game Plan also lists out what procedures parents and students should expect and follow this school year such as procedures for large gatherings, visitation, classroom expectations, athletic requirements (such as requiring masks for inside athletic events) etc.
Some of the commenters on the post seemed to express some frustration regarding the mask rules. The commenters seemed to have been hoping that the school district would not be requiring masks for the upcoming school year.
