Three Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) employees were appointed to new positions during the CCPS virtual Called Board Meeting Thursday.
The first employee mentioned was Kimberlee Barnett, who was recommended to be the principal at Jonesboro Middle School. Barnett was formerly an assistant principal at Lovejoy Middle School, according to the CCPS webpage.
Then Dr. Porsha Denson was recommended to be an assistant principal at Lovejoy High School. Denson was formerly a Title 1 academic coach at Jonesboro Middle School, as mentioned on the CCPS webpage.
Lovejoy High School is also the alma mater of District 1 Board Member, Jasmine Bowles, which she mentioned during the Board Meeting.
The final recommendation was Brandon Thompson, who was recommended to be an assistant principal at Lovejoy High School as well. Thompson was formerly a Title 1 academic coach at Drew High School, according to the CCPS webpage.
Each person received a unanimous vote regarding their appointment.
